La base metàl·lica d’alumini proporciona més estabilitat mecànica durant l’ús i dissipa la calor de manera més eficient respecte a plaques sense base. A més, redueix el risc de deformacions i facilita el treball en bancades. Tanmateix, afegeix pes i pot ser susceptible a curtcircuits si no s’utilitza correctament amb aïllament.

La placa admet cables amb norma AWG entre 20 i 29 (0,81 mm a 0,29 mm de diàmetre). És important evitar cables fora d’aquest rang, ja que podrien no fer bon contacte o danyar els connectors. Es recomana fer servir cables rígids per a connexions fermes i evitar fallades intermitents.

Cada punt de contacte normalment suporta fins a 1 A, tot i que per a ús prolongat es recomana no superar 0,5 A per punt. Corrents superiors poden escalfar i deformar els contactes interns, reduint la vida útil del protoboard.

La placa és portàtil i es pot fer servir directament sobre qualsevol superfície plana. Per a una instal·lació fixa, s’han d’utilitzar els forats disponibles a la base per cargolar-la o fixar-la de manera segura si l’entorn ho requereix.

El producte no inclou protecció específica contra descàrregues electrostàtiques (ESD). És recomanable utilitzar polseres antiestàtiques o treballar en superfícies ESD-safe en manipular components electrònics sensibles.

The product does not include specific protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD). It is recommended to use anti-static wrist straps or work on ESD-safe surfaces when handling sensitive electronic components.
