Aquest cable adaptador està dissenyat principalment per a camions equipats amb un port de diagnòstic de 9 pins utilitzat habitualment en vehicles industrials amb motors dièsel Cummins. Pot funcionar en altres camions que utilitzin la mateixa norma de connector, sempre que l’eina de diagnòstic sigui OBD2 estàndard de 16 pins. Es recomana revisar el manual del vehicle per confirmar la compatibilitat exacta.

L’adaptador utilitza carcassa de plàstic ABS i cablejat revestit en PE (polietilè). L’ABS proporciona bona resistència a impactes i abrasió, mentre que el PE aporta flexibilitat al cable, permetent doblegar-lo sense risc de trencament en operacions freqüents. Aquesta combinació ofereix un ús prolongat en condicions estàndard de taller.

La instal·lació és directa: n’hi ha prou amb connectar l’extrem de 9 pins al port del camió i el de 16 pins a l’eina OBD2. No calen configuracions, adaptacions ni eines addicionals. Tanmateix, la funció de diagnòstic depèn de la compatibilitat entre el camió, l’escàner i el protocol suportat.

El cable només fa l’adaptació física entre connectors; no converteix senyals ni protocols elèctrics. Per això, no és compatible amb tots els protocols de diagnòstic existents, i només funcionarà si ambdós extrems utilitzen comunicacions electròniques compatibles OBD/OBD2. No suporta CAN a J1939 ni altres conversions de nivell complex.

Es recomana evitar estirar o doblegar excessivament el cable, així com exposar-lo de manera contínua a altes temperatures (>70 °C) o a químics abrasius. Guardar el cable en un lloc sec, sense doblecs forçats, i revisar que els pins metàl·lics estiguin nets abans i després de cada ús garantirà el millor rendiment i una llarga vida útil.

This adapter cable is mainly designed for trucks fitted with a 9-pin diagnostic port commonly used in industrial vehicles with Cummins diesel engines. It may also work on other trucks using the same connector standard, provided the diagnostic tool is a standard 16-pin OBD2 unit. It is recommended to check the vehicle manual to confirm exact compatibility.

The adapter uses an ABS plastic housing and PE (polyethylene)-sheathed wiring. ABS provides good resistance to impact and abrasion, while PE adds flexibility to the cable, allowing it to be bent without risk of breakage during frequent use. This combination offers long service life under standard workshop conditions.

Installation is straightforward: simply connect the 9-pin end to the truck port and the 16-pin end to the OBD2 tool. No configuration, adaptation or additional tools are required. However, the diagnostic function depends on compatibility between the truck, the scanner and the supported protocol.

The cable only provides the physical adaptation between connectors; it does not convert electrical signals or protocols. For this reason, it is not compatible with all existing diagnostic protocols, and it will only work if both ends use compatible OBD/OBD2 electronic communications. It does not support CAN to J1939 or other complex level conversions.

It is recommended to avoid pulling or bending the cable excessively, as well as continuous exposure to high temperatures (>70 °C) or abrasive chemicals. Storing the cable in a dry place, without forced bends, and checking that the metal pins are clean before and after each use will ensure the best performance and a long service life.
